Self Reflection
Many times with our writing, I use a 1, 2, 3 or 4 to assess the writing similar to how the NYS evaluates writing.
Students who received a 1 or a 2- Please reflect upon - Was the question or prompt answered completely? Were there any pieces that were missing or incomplete?
Were there details and examples? Did you use your handouts to provide specific text proof/examples? How was your grammar? Were the proper nouns capitalized? Was there end punctuation? Were the sentences rephrased and complete? Did the sentences have variety, or were they phrased the same way over and over? When reading over your paper, were the sentences not missing any words, causing it to be awkward or confusing.
Was your response in your own words? or did you just copy word for word from the handout?
3 - The response has a solid base of information, you are on your way! ~ areas of growth - details ,examples, elaboration and thoroughness/completeness. Double check your grammar.
4 - Keep going! Please continue your insightful and detailed response. Thank you for taking that extra step and adding additional (from the Internet or packet) examples/details. It was great reading the specific text proof and that you even used a direct quote or cited a source. The example(s)were accurate, detailed and relevant. Vocabulary or terms from the unit were used in the response.
Good proofreading. Your information was logical and had a nice flow of information.
Thank you for your self evaluation/reflection and effort towards improving your work.
