Math 5
Illustrative Mathematics
This year the students are using a new math series titled "Illustrative Mathematics". We completed our first unit on Geometry (volume) with success! Currently, we are moving through Unit 2 - Fractions as Quotients and Fraction Multiplication. Unfortunately, the student text is not available online. In order to keep parents and students up to date, slideshow presentations have been posted on Google Classroom. The slideshow presentations include: lesson goals, text pages, cool-down activities, and discussion questions. This will allow parents to have a clearer picture of math class and assist students who are potentially out for an extended period of time.

Common Core Sheets is a site where students can go to practice/reinforce math skills. The link that follows will bring you to the home page. There are a great number of math topics listed alphabetically along the left side. The worksheets can be printed and completed. Another great option is to select "One atta Time" listed under most topics. This allows the student to become interactive with the material in a skill and drill format (no printing necessary).
