Dear Pawling Central Middle School Families and Community,

It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I share that I am officially serving as Interim Principal of Pawling Middle School. Please join me in congratulating Ms. Gleason as she begins her maternity leave and enjoys this special time with her growing family.

Over the summer, I began working closely with Ms. Gleason and Mrs. Dulin to plan, helping to ensure that our leadership transition was seamless. Throughout this process, I quickly came to recognize what a special place Pawling Middle School is. There is a high level of commitment, collaboration, and support among our teachers, families, and broader community. Since the start of the school year, I have participated in a variety of meetings and spent time connecting with students, faculty, staff, and parents to deepen my understanding of the middle school’s existing systems and practices.

This is my 12th year in the Pawling Central School District and my 16th year overall in education. In 2015, I started my career in this district as a high school science teacher. I held this position for seven years until transitioning to administration. Some families may also remember that I served as a part time Assistant Principal at Pawling Elementary School during the 2022-2023 school year when many of our middle school students were in grades 1-4. It has been very rewarding thus far reconnecting with students, seeing how much they have grown since the last time I worked with them.

I hold degrees and licensure in biology, special education, literacy, and curriculum and instruction. I hope to draw on this experience to bring an additional perspective to supporting and guiding our school community. I remain committed to working collaboratively with our stakeholder groups to foster the best educational environment possible that is conducive for teaching and learning. I have already seen firsthand how dedicated the middle school faculty and staff are and how our robust programming can help students discover their strengths, develop their talents, and continue to grow both personally and academically.

Throughout the year, I will share periodic updates and communications on behalf of the middle school. I look forward to building a strong partnership with you and your children to support their goals, well-being, and success. If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your continued support of Pawling Middle School. I anticipate a successful school year ahead!

Warm regards,

Mr. Ean Titus, Interim Principal
